The people AI displaced are the people best placed to test it.
Evaluations, red-teaming, oversight tooling, interpretability infrastructure, model-behaviour datasets: all of it needs people who can read code, reason about systems, and notice when something is wrong. That is exactly the population being laid off. The Alignment Corps is a reskilling track that turns displaced developers into the workforce that makes AI systems safer.
What you learn
Evaluation design and benchmarking
Red-teaming methodology
Monitoring and oversight tooling
Dataset construction for model behaviour
Reporting standards used by labs and auditors
Where you go
AI labs
Safety organisations
Audit and assurance bodies
EDF's own displacement-research program
Placement partners listed as they sign.
What you give back
Corps members contribute to the Displacement Data Standard as part of the track. Your transition becomes evidence that helps the next person's.
Where this stands
The first Corps cohort will run alongside our first Workforce Transition cohort. Curriculum is being co-designed with practitioners; names published as agreements conclude.
The Corps is a track inside Workforce Transition. EDF is not an AI safety research lab and does not claim to be one — read what we are not.
