EDF's nonprofit registration is still in progress, so we are not yet accepting public donations and contributions are not tax-deductible. The allocations below are our funding plan, not money already spent. See where we are today for what has and has not happened so far.

Reskilling Programs
40% of funds
Cohort-based training programs that take displaced developers from uncertainty to employability. Covers curriculum development, instructor compensation, platform costs, and participant stipends so workers can focus on learning without financial pressure.

Budgeted at $2,500 to carry one developer through a complete 16-week reskilling cohort.
Micro-Grants for Individuals
25% of funds
Direct financial support for displaced workers who need bridge funding during their transition. Covers essentials like equipment, certification fees, internet access, and living expenses during intensive reskilling periods.
Impact
$500-$5,000 per grant — enough to remove the single biggest barrier to career transition.
Startup Incubation
20% of funds
Seed funding and operational support for displaced developers launching AI-native businesses. Covers co-working access, legal scaffolding, prototype development, and early customer acquisition.
Impact
Budgeted at $10,000 per founder — a fraction of what traditional accelerators spend.
Research & Policy
10% of funds
Original research on AI labor displacement, policy white papers, and advocacy work with governments and international institutions. This is the systemic change lever — ensuring that individual programs are supported by fair, informed policy.

Funds original research and open policy toolkits, published freely as they are produced.
Operations & Platform
5% of funds
The infrastructure that makes everything else possible — our technology platform, team operations, and program coordination. We keep overhead ruthlessly low so that maximum funding reaches workers directly.
