Endangered Developers Foundation
What We Do
Six interconnected programs that take displaced developers from uncertainty to opportunity. Each addresses a different dimension of the transition — skills, capital, community, career clarity, and systemic change.
Workforce Transition
From displacement to employment in 12-16 weeks.
Losing a job to AI isn't just a career setback — it's an identity crisis. Developers who spent years mastering frameworks and languages find their skills depreciating overnight. Our Workforce Transition program is designed to meet people in that moment of uncertainty and move them forward — fast.
Outcome
85% of cohort graduates secure new roles or launch businesses within 90 days of completion.
Structured 12-16 week cohort programs with clear milestones and accountability
Career mapping sessions that identify transferable skills and adjacent high-demand roles
1-on-1 mentorship from industry practitioners who've navigated similar transitions
Job placement support including resume rewriting, interview prep, and employer introductions
Focus areas: AI Product Management, Solutions Architecture, Developer Relations, Technical Sales, AI Ethics & Governance
AI Credits & Training Cohorts
Learn by building — with real tools, real budgets.
You can't reskill for the AI economy without access to AI tools. But GPU credits, API access, and cloud compute are expensive — especially for someone between jobs. EDF partners with leading AI companies to provide displaced developers with the credits and training they need to build real projects, not just watch tutorials.
Outcome
Participants leave with working AI projects, professional credentials, and the confidence to build with the technologies reshaping their industries.
Subsidized credits from NVIDIA, AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Anthropic, and OpenAI
Cohort-based training programs where participants build production-grade AI projects together
Curriculum designed around practical application: RAG systems, AI agents, fine-tuning, MLOps
Weekly live sessions with AI practitioners — not pre-recorded lectures
Portfolio-building: every participant ships at least 2 deployable AI projects
Startup Incubation
Your domain expertise is your unfair advantage.
AI can write code, but it can't understand why a healthcare workflow is broken, why a logistics system fails in monsoon season, or why a compliance process needs human judgment. Displaced developers carry irreplaceable domain expertise. Our incubation program helps them turn that expertise into AI-native businesses.
Outcome
The goal isn't unicorns — it's sustainable livelihoods. Founders who can pay their bills, hire others, and grow at their own pace.
12-week structured incubation with weekly milestones from idea to MVP
Business model validation, market research, and competitive analysis support
Legal scaffolding: company formation, IP basics, contractor agreements
Access to EDF's network of angel investors, VCs, and corporate innovation labs
Revenue-first methodology: we prioritize sustainable businesses over fundraising theater
Co-working access and peer accountability from a cohort of fellow founder-developers
Small Loans & Funding
Because transition costs money you might not have.
Reskilling takes time. Building a business takes capital. And when you've just lost your income, even a few months of financial pressure can derail the best-laid plans. EDF's micro-funding program provides the financial bridge so displaced workers can invest in their future without financial catastrophe.
Outcome
Financial support removes the single biggest barrier to successful career transition: the ability to invest time in learning without losing everything.
Micro-grants of $500 - $5,000 for reskilling expenses (courses, certifications, equipment)
Low-interest loans of $5,000 - $25,000 for startup founders with flexible, revenue-tied repayment
Emergency bridge funding for workers in acute financial distress during transition
No traditional credit score requirements — we evaluate commitment, plan quality, and mentor endorsements
Revenue-share financing option: repay as a percentage of future earnings, not fixed installments
Research & Policy
Data-driven advocacy for systemic change.
Individual reskilling programs are necessary, but insufficient. The scale of AI displacement requires systemic responses — updated labor laws, portable benefits, education reform, and international coordination. EDF's research and policy arm works to ensure that government and institutional responses are informed by data, not ideology.
Outcome
Shaping the rules of the AI economy so they work for workers, not just the companies building AI.
Original research on AI-driven labor displacement, published and freely available
Policy recommendations for governments designing AI workforce transition programs
Testimony and advisory roles with national and international labor organizations
Collaboration with universities on longitudinal studies of AI workforce impact
Annual 'State of the Displaced Developer' report tracking trends across 40+ countries
Open-source policy toolkit for regional governments launching their own transition programs
AI-Assisted Career Guidance
Your AI career advisor — resume, roadmap, and reskilling in one place.
The hardest part of career transition isn't learning new skills — it's knowing which skills to learn. EDF's AI-assisted guidance system analyzes your existing experience, identifies high-value parallel skills, and creates a personalized roadmap for your transition. It reviews your resume, suggests concrete improvements, identifies roles you're closer to than you think, and recommends specific upskilling paths — so you're not guessing in the dark.
Outcome
Every displaced developer gets a clear, personalized, data-backed answer to the question: 'What should I do next?' — not generic advice, but a specific plan built on their unique strengths.
AI-powered resume analysis: identifies strengths, gaps, and specific improvements with before/after suggestions
Parallel skilling roadmaps: maps your existing skills to adjacent, high-demand roles you can reach in 8-16 weeks
Career upgrade paths: shows the shortest distance between where you are and where the market is heading
Personalized training recommendations based on your background, goals, and the local job market
Salary and demand forecasting: data-driven insights on which roles are growing and what they pay
Continuous feedback loop: as you complete trainings and update your profile, recommendations evolve with you
